02/06/2012...A new data update has posted. This data update is active from 02/09/2012 to 03/08/2012.
10/25/2011... After updating your iPad to Apple's latest operating system upgrade iOS5, a corruption issue can arise during the updating process where your Flight Guide iEFB App may either freeze when selecting the "Weather" page or display a "data not found" error on seamless charts. This is simply fixed by after completing the iOS5 update procedure, delete the iEFB App completely and re-install from the App store.
10/19/2011... Server speed has greatly improved... Please select "Refresh" on the "downloads" page before downloading data.
10/12/2011... The Apple iPAD IOS v5.0 is now available for download from iTunes and fully compatible with Flight Guide iEFB v4.1. However, updating to IOS v5.0 will cause you to lose all Flight Guide iEFB chart and airport data. After updating to IOS v5.0, you will need to go to the "Downloads" menu in the iEFB App and re-download all lost data.

Flight Guide iEFB Install Procedure & FREE 30 Day Trial
The Flight Guide iEFB Application is available FREE through the Apple App Store on your iPad.
Step 1: Select the "App Store" button on your iPad.
Step 2: In the search field, type in "Flight Guide iEFB" to locate the Flight Guide iEFB App.
Step 3: Select the "Free" label located on the Flight Guide iEFB icon, and then select "install" to install it on your iPad.
Step 4: Once installed, select the Flight Guide iEFB app button to launch the app.
Step 5: Create a Flight Guide iEFB Account by first selecting “My Account” located in the Main Menu Bar on the bottom right-hand side of the application.
Step 6: Select "Create Account/New User" and enter an email ID and Password.
At this point, you can take advantage of our FREE 30 Day Trial and begin downloading data and using Flight Guide iEFB. Flight Guide iEFB Monthly Plans
Monthly Data Plans are purchased within the Flight Guide iEFB App itself.
Step 1: Launch the Flight Guide iEFB application.
Step 2: Select “My Account” located in the Main Menu Bar on the bottom right-hand side of the application.
Step 3:Tap to select the desired monthly plan listed under the "Subscription Plans" menu bar.
*Monthly data plans are purchase through your Apple iTunes account and must be renewed manually each month to stay active. All iEFB data will continue to reside on your iPad's hard drive but is de-activated. Simply renew your monthly subscription plan or sign up for an annual plan to re-activate your service.

Flight Guide iEFB Annual Plans
Annual Data Plans are purchased through the www.flightguide.com website and will save you money, as opposed to a monthly plan, by giving you 2 FREE months of service.
Step 1: Click Here to call up the specially discounted Flight Guide iEFB Annual Data Plan sign up form.
Step 2: Launch the Flight Guide iEFB App and select the “My Account” menu Icon located in the Main Menu Bar on the bottom of the App.
Step 3: Select “Sign In” located under the "Account" menu bar.
Step 4: Type in your “Email Id” and “Password” in the appropriate fields.*Be sure to type in your entire email address in the “Email Id” field.

Flight Guide iEFB Tips & Info
• Too many Apps open on your iPad at once can cause your iPad to not function properly! Most iPad users are not aware of how to close their Apps. Click Here to learn how to close your multi-tasking Apps.
• Download speed too slow? Click Here to test your network download speed with the FREE "Speedtest.net" App for your iPad. Optimum "Download" speed for Flight Guide iEFB data downloads are around 8-10 Mbps. Check with your internet provider on how to increase your network's performance.
• Refreshing your Download Page. When downloading iEFB data each month, it's a good idea to choose "Refresh" located on the upper left-hand side of the "Downloads" page before starting a new data download. This ensures you are getting the most current data from our servers.
• Turning "Location Services" on for iPad compatible GPS devices. Flight Guide iEFB can be used with any iPad compatible GPS device such as the Bad Elf GPS, Dual XGPS150 and GNS 5870. Launch the “Settings” Application on your iPad and tap “Location Services” located on the top left-hand side. A list of all apps that utilize location services including Flight Guide iEFB will be listed on the right-hand side. Locate Flight Guide iEFB and tap the switch to "ON". Now, all Flight Guide iEFB "Seamless" charts will show your GPS location.
*Note: The Flight Guide FLY-Wi GPS does not need "Location Services" turned on for it to locate your position with Flight Guide iEFB and is unique in that it uses Wi-Fi to communicate GPS, Traffic & Weather information to the iPad. Click Here for more info on the FLY-Wi GPS.
• How to print your iEFB's Instrument Approach Plates. You can print your Flight Guide iEFB approach plates from your iPad to be taken with you on a flight in the event of an iPad failure by following a simple procedure.

Flight Guide FLY-Wi GPS Support
Enabling the Flight Guide FLY-Wi GPS for iEFB v4.1
Step 1: Select the “My Account” menu Icon located in the Main Menu Bar on the bottom of the iEFB App.
Step 2: Select “Edit Settings” located on the bottom half of the “My Account” menu.
Step 3: Slide the "Enable Fly-Wi" setting to the "On" position.
FLY-Wi GPS Tips & Info
• Configuring your iPad to "Auto Join" the FLY-Wi GPS.
The FLY-Wi GPS can be set to auto connect to your iPad running the Flight Guide iEFB App.
Step 1: Press the "Power Button" on the FLY-Wi to power up.
Step 2: Launch the “Settings” Application on your iPad and choose “Wi-Fi” located on the top left-hand side.
Step 3: Join the network named "FLY-Wi", for example, “FLY-WI-99”. This will be displaying in your network list. Once selected, a check mark should now be displaying to the right of the FLY-WI network name.
Step 4: With your FLY-WI network displaying in the network list, select the "Blue Bubble" to the right of the FLY-Wi network to enter the Wi-Fi network settings screen.
Step 5: Turn the "Auto Join" feature located on the top of this menu, to "ON".
At this point you can close the "Settings" App and launch Flight Guide iEFB and your FLY-Wi will auto connect.
• Assigning a "Static" IP Address for the FLY-Wi GPS. If you would like to have your iPad connect even faster to the FLY-Wi GPS, you can set its network configuration to "Static" instead of DHCP.
Step 1: After setting your iPad to "Auto Join" described above, on the same Wi-Fi network settings screen write down the "IP Address" numbers shown under DHCP.
Step 2: Next, write down the "Subnet Mask" address numbers.
Step 3: Select "Static" located two places to the right of "DHCP"
Step 4: Touch the "IP Address" field. When the keyboard pops up, type in the IP Address that you had written down.
Step 5: Touch the "Subnet Mask" field . When the keyboard pops up, type in the Subnet Mask numbers that you had written down. At this point you can close the "Settings" App and launch Flight Guide iEFB and your FLY-Wi will auto connect faster than normal.
Connecting the ZAON PCAS XRX to your FLY-Wi GPS
Step 1: Connect DB9 end of FLY-Wi GPS ZAON cable to Zaon XRX RS-232 port.
Step 2: Connect PS2 end of FLY-Wi GPS ZAON cable to “Port 1” of FLY-Wi GPS.
Step 3: Connect BR-355 GPS Receiver to “Port 2” of FLY-Wi GPS.
Step 4: Set the communications mode on the ZAON XRX to “Profile 2”.
Step 5: Establish Network Connection from the FLY-Wi GPS to your iPad.
