Flight Guide Online Privacy Policy

Airguide Publications, creator of Flight Guide Online at www.flightguide.com, is committed to protecting the privacy of our customer's personal information. At Airguide Publications, we understand the importance of privacy, and we want our customers to be as comfortable as possible visiting our website and using our services. This statement applies to the information we collect from the Flight Guide Online website, located at www.flightguide.com.   

USER REQUIREMENTS: OVER 13 YEARS OLD

Airguide Publications does not allow registration of children ages thirteen (13) years or younger, and, as such, does not collect personal information from said individuals.  This policy is adopted with the intent to further the interests of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, 15 U.S.C. §§ 6501 et. seq.   

INFORMATION COLLECTED

We collect information in three distinct ways:

          1) Membership enrollment and Profile creation;

          2) Interaction with the website and solution tools; and

          3) Mail order and the FlightGuide.com e-commerce site. 

In order to access subscriber services within Airguide Publication's Flight Guide Online website, Airguide Publications requires that you provide certain personally identifying information ("Registration Data").  All personally identifying information is protected by your password.  This personally identifying Registration Data includes the following:

            (1) Your legal name;

            (2) Your Address;

            (3) Your Phone Number;

            (4) Your Credit Card Information;

            (5) Your Email Address; and

            (6) Your User Password. 

Additionally, while not required, you may elect to provide certain non-personally identifying information, such as, Age, Gender, Flight Certificate Status, and Flying Habits.  

USE OF COOKIES

When you view our Flightguide Online website we store some information on your computer.  This information will be in the form of a "cookie" or similar file.  Cookies are small computer files that we transfer to your computer's hard drive that allow us to know how often you visit our site. This information helps us customize our website specifically for you and also allows us to statistically monitor how many people are using our site and for what purpose. Cookies do not spy on you or otherwise invade your privacy, and they cannot invade your hard drive to retrieve personal information from your computer.  Rather, they assist you with navigation of our website as easily as possible by avoiding the re-entry of all your Registration Data at each connection.

Registration Data is the property of Airguide Publications, subject to and protected by the Electronic Communications Privacy Act.  18 U.S.C. §§ 2710 et. seq.   

Airguide Publications will not sell, rent, swap, or otherwise disclose any personally identifying Registration Data about you to a third party without your express consent, except to the extent necessary to comply with applicable law, legal process or in legal proceedings where such information is relevant. 

USE OF AGGREGATED INFORMATION

Airguide Publications reserves the right to disclose to third parties non-personally identifying information in aggregate with others' information, which does not allow you to be identified or contacted, pertaining to Subscriber usage of the Flightguide Online website and any related services, including information gathered during your use of the Site.  For example, we might inform third parties regarding the number of users of our site and the activities they conduct while on our site. We might also inform a third party (that may or may not be an advertiser on our site) that “35 percent of our users live in the western region” or that “25 percent of our users are instrument-rated.” Depending on the circumstances, we may or may not charge for this information. 

SECURITY

Airguide Publications uses industry-standard efforts to safeguard the confidentiality of your personal information, such as firewalls and Secure Socket Layers where appropriate. Nevertheless, absolute security does not yet exist on the Internet. 

PUBLIC FORUMS AND OTHER WEB SITE LINKS

Airguide Publications makes chat rooms, forums, and/or message boards (i.e. Pilot Chatter) available to its users on the Flightguide Online website.  As such, please remember that any information disclosed within these forums becomes public information and may be viewed by third parties not related to Airguide Publications.  Thus, any information so disclosed on the public forums is not subject to this Privacy Policy and you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal information.  

Also, the Flightguide Online website contains links to other third party websites.  Airguide Publications is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such web sites.  If you link to a third party site from Flight Guide Online, any information you reveal on that site is not subject to this Privacy Policy. You should consult the privacy policies of each site you visit. 
 

NO LIABILITY FOR ACTS OF THIRD PARTIES

Although Airguide Publications will use reasonable efforts to safeguard confidentiality of Registration Data, transmissions made by means of the Internet cannot be made absolutely secure.  Airguide Publications will have no liability for disclosure of Registration Data due to errors in transmission or unauthorized acts of third parties.  

CORRECTIONS: UPDATES

Airguide Publications allows its users the option to change or modify information previously provided.  As such, you can always contact us in order to delete your Personal Information from our systems by e-mailing us at airguide@flightguide.com. You can always update the Personal Information that you have provided to us by clicking the “My Account” button on the website. 

INCORPORATION OF PRIVACY POLICY TO TERMS & CONDITIONS OF USE

This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and subject to the Terms and Conditions of use. It tells you what information we collect, how we protect it and what choices you have about

how that information is used. Most information collected is to enable us to best meet your needs as an airport data supplier in a highly customized and responsive manner. 

CHOICE; OPT OUT

Airguide Publications reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time by posting revisions to our website.  Any changes and updates will be effective immediately upon posting to the Flightguide Online website. In the event that any changes are made to use of your personal information, we will inform you via e-mail, and will afford you the opportunity to opt-out of any further use.  

Your use of the site constitutes acceptance of the provisions of this Privacy Policy and your continued use after such changes are posted constitutes acceptance of each revised Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy or any revised policy, please

exit the site.
