Airport Info & Diagram

Flight Guide Online's complete comprehensive Airport info & Diagram page provides the coverage, detail, and supplementary information you need in today's complex aviation environment. Flight Guide Online's clear and concise airport diagrams are unmatched among any other on-line resource available today! Also included are flight operational information, navigation & communication frequencies, lighting, businesses on field with their locations, services & contact information, driving directions and fuel prices. Airport data and diagrams are updated daily by our team of researchers.

Airspace Graphics

Flight Guide Online provides a full size graphic for every Class-B, Class-C, TRSA and selected Class-D airspace. A larger graphic depiction of each airport & airspace is available by clicking on it's corresponding thumbnail. Airspace images contain boundaries and altitudes as well as other nearby airspace entities including: special-use airspace, visual checkpoints, selected geographical features (cities, roads, lakes, rivers, etc.), "Xpct" boxes (what the tower is likely to instruct), navaids (VORs and beacons), and state boundaries. Class-B graphic image pages display the same information as Class C, D and TRSA pages in addition to IFR arrival & departure routes, VFR corridors, VFR flyways & Transition routes.

Satellite Photos

In addition to airspace graphics & airport diagrams, Flight Guide Online has teamed up with google maps to provide an instantaneous, in-depth, satellite/aerial image of every airport. Images are dynamic, interactive maps that are draggable–no clicking and waiting for graphics to reload each time you want to view the adjacent parts of a map. Since these maps are draggable, you can use your mouse or the directional arrows to pan left, right, up and down to see areas that are hidden offscreen. You can also use the map slider to zoom in and zoom out. Switching to the "map" view allows you to view a detailaed driving map of the current airport as well as surrounding areas. You can also choose the "hybrid" view, which superimposes map data - including streets, street names, and landmarks - over the satellite images.

Off Field Information & Reservations

Need to find a nearby restaurant, hotel or car rental agency? Just click on the "Off Field Info" tab to display local listings. Phone numbers and mileage from the airport is also included for each listing for your convenience. Click on the "Make Reservations" link to view availability, rates and make reservations for your favorite hotel and car rental agencies. Recreational information including special activities is also listed here.

Printable Pages

Flight Guide Online gives you the option of printing out airport data, graphics & supplementary information in two formats: 8 1/2 x 11 or knee-board size 5 1/2 x 8 1/2. These printouts can be used for preflight planning or in the cockpit, during your flight.

Advanced Searches

Flight Guide Online gives you the ability to locate airports by searching in-depth airport data like: runway types & lengths, hours attended, lighting, instrument approach procedures and airports of entry. Businesses on field services can also be searched like: fuel brand & octane, self service fuel, courtesy cars, maintenance, parking, aircraft rentals & sales, flight schools and more. On & off field restaurants, hotels and transportation can also be searched. Finally, you can select your favorite recreational activities to search by including: beaches, boating, camping, fishing, golfing, water sports, winter sports and many more!

Flight Log, Airport Notes & Pilot Chatter

Want to remember that great restaurant or FBO you used at a particular airport? The "Airport Notes" section allows you to keep private comments, pertinent information, or even a favorite restaurant or hotel, attached to a particular airport for future reference. The "Flight Log" page gives members the ability to log their flights and compute totals, which can then be printed and used for personal record keeping or to apply for a renewal of a medical certificate or aircraft insurance policy. If you have questions regarding a certain airport or would like to share some useful advice to others flying in to a particular airport, you can post them in our "Pilot Chatter" group forum section.

FlightPrep FlightPlan & Weather

FlightPrep, the leading provider of Electronic Flight Bag software, ChartCase Professional, powers Flight Guide Online's Advanced Flight Planner & Weather. By simply clicking on the Advanced Flight Planner button, you will have the ability to quickly generate a flight plan to or from your selected airport, edit your route using "rubber band" routing or by using the route editor, view waypoint information and check the weather including: current airport conditions, METAR/TAFs decoded & detailed forcasts. You can also get a trip report showing leg times, distances and fuel flow, add your own aircraft profile, display real-time weather along your route, and do many of the other functions you find on dedicated, desktop flight planners! Once you've finished planning your flight, you can save your routes (accessible from any computer), generate a custom FAA Flight Plan Form, populated with your flight plan data and file it electronically with the FAA.

It's best feature is the automatic route planner. Plug in aircraft, type of flight, departure point, destination, alternate destination, cruise altitude, power setting, departure time, passengers on board, winds aloft and the type of route you want to fly, and it does all the work.

For your convenience, Flight Guide Online Members can also access real-time weather briefings and graphics, by clicking on the Aviation Weather map adjacent. Features include: surface analysis, weather depiction, composite moisture stability chart, visible and infrared satellite charts, US Radar and the 12 to 72 hour forecasts.

For Flight Guide Online members who'd like a more extensive flight planner, you can upgrade to FlightPrep's Web Plan. Unlike crude first generation internet flight planners that only provide static chart representations, FlightPrep Web Plan features interactive user-defined charts (VFR Sectional, WAC and Low & High IFR Enroute and Approach Plates) with point & click, and rubber-band routing. Flight Routes and Minimum Enroute Altitude (MEA) are graphically depicted in an easy-to-read format. Profile views are also included with an exaggerated pictorial representation of your route. Terrain is depicted with exclusive shaded relief maps for enhanced utility. Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFR) are shown graphically and labeled textually, and continually updated 24/7 by the FAA. Accurate aircraft modeling and graphic weight and balance are other key features FlightPrep Web Plan has to offer. The Flight Planning Wizard quickly computes your route, along with fuel stops, and selects the most efficient altitude based on winds aloft. FlightPrep Web Plan provides a NEXRAD weather overlay to make routing around weather easier. Additionally, TripKit provides members the ability to build and print out Flight Plans, Flight Logs, pertinent charts and weather graphics, for pre-flight planning or reference during flight as high resolution PDFs. When you have finished planning your flight, FlightPrep Web Plan files your flight plan online with DUATS for you. Like Flight Guide Online, FlightPrep Web Plan is accessible from any Internet compatible computer. All of these features available & integrated within Flight Guide Online!
